Bangor University Environmental Pledge

This year the University has introduced a new ‘Environmental Pledge’ for staff and students to opt in to, it includes stuff such as taking shorter showers (remember the article in the last Seren that citizens of Bangor shower too long!) and keeping your windows closed when you’ve turned your heating on! Over 400 students have already signed up to the Pledge at Serendipity, the Freshers’ Fair last month – will you be next? You don’t have to give up your laptop or iphone to save the planet, just do stuff such as only boiling the amount of water it takes to fill your cup rather than filling the whole kettle. Plus that way you get out of making everyone in the kitchen a brew.

Addewid Amgylcheddol Prifysgol Bangor

Eleni mae’r Brifysgol wedi cyflwyno ‘Addewid Amgylcheddol’ newydd i staff a myfyrwyr allu’i ddewis; mae’n cynnwys stwff fel cymryd cawodydd byrrach (ydych chi’n cofio’r erthygl yn Seren ynghylch y ffaith bod trigolion Bangor yn cael cawodydd rhy hir?) a chadw’ch ffenestri wedi’u cau pan fyddwch wedi troi’r gwres ymlaen! Mae dros 400 o fyfyrwyr eisoes wedi arwyddo i’r Addewid yn Serendipedd, Ffair y Glas – ai chi fydd nesaf? Does dim rhaid i chi roi’r gorau i’ch gliniadur na’ch iphone i achub y blaned, dim ond gwneud pethau fel dim ond berwi faint o ddŵr mae’n ei gymryd i lenwi’ch cwpan yn hytrach na llenwi’r tegell yn llawn dop. Hefyd mae hynny’n ffordd o osgoi gorfod gwneud paned i bawb arall yn y gegin.
